Costa Rica, Nicoya Penninsula, ca. 800 to 1000 CE. Large and lovely pottery jar decorated in shades of brick red, orange/tan and black with upper register of twin crocodilians with long snouts, lower register has two more crocodilians, this time with obviously toothy jaws and long curled tails. A most attractive vessel! Size: 7.75" W x 7.5" H (19.7 cm x 19 cm)
