Enthauptung Johannes des TŠufers Russland, um 1600 Laubholz-Einzeltafel mit zwei profilierten RŸckseiten-Sponki. Doppeltes Kowtscheg, Tempera auf Kreidegrund, Hintergrund und Randbereich freigelegt. Verso kyrillische Inschrift. Mehrszenige Darstellung. In der linken BildhŠlfte wird die Enthauptung von Johannes und sein kopfloser Kšper dargestellt. Rechts wird sein Haupt in einer goldenen Schale an Salome Ÿbergeben. Mittig ist Johannes im GefŠngnis, der sich bittend an den Ÿber ihn erscheinenden Gottvater wendet. Die in Brauntšnen ausgefŸhrten Gesichter sind durch Hochlichter modelliert. Reiche Ausgestaltung des Kamelhaarmantels des TŠufers sowie der RŸstung des Soldaten mit reichem Stein- und Perlbesatz. A finely painted icon of the Decollation of St. John the Baptist. Russia, circa 1600. Tempera on gesso on wood panel with double-kovcheg, background and border stripped to gesso. To the left the decollation of the Baptist and to the right the presentation of his head on a platter to Salome. The background showing John praying to God the Father who is appearing above. Slightly restored. Border damaged. 31 x 27 cm.
