Description
Chinese, late 19th/ early 20th century. A Ming Dynasty style porcelain Gu form beaker vase with wucai enamel decoration, the flaring round foot with a band of stylized waves surmounted by galloping horses and dragons separated by tall seaforms, the bulbous vase center with a courtly figural scene set in a garden, the thick neck with four cloud shaped floral cartouches reserved on a ground or red and yellow geometric patterning set below a a field with a five-clawed dragon and phoenix amid cloud scrolls and flames, and the flaring rim with a band of leaf tips. Unmarked. Approximate height 16.625", diameter 6.375".
