Description: Tall Clock by Samuel Hill, Sheffield, c. 1790. Oak case with pine backboards. Painted face with name, 'Samuel Hill, Sheffield'. Inlays on door edges and 'panel' under; fluted 1/4 columns below full turned and fluted columns framing doors; arched pediment with brass finial in center. Resting on bracket feet. Pendulum & weights included.
History: This clock was made by Samuel Hill who learned his trade in London, emigrated from England, and set up shop in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, by 1785.

Split bottom 'panel' in good, original condition. Face glass has two 2.5-3.0" cracks, bottom center area, from the perimeter toward the center of the glass.
