Description
Magna Graecia, southern Italy, Apulia, found near the town of Ignazia, ca. 340 to 325 BCE. Lovely pottery prochous with bulbous base, short foot, corseted neck, long thin spout and sweeping handle, human maskettes on each side of the terminal of spout to handle. Vessel painted in fugitive red, white and yellow grape-vine panels between ovolo and scrolls. A delightful piece of Greek pottery! Size: 7-1/4" H (18.4 cm).
