A GEORGE III STERLING SILVER TEA CADDY, HALLMARKED, SILVERSMITHS PETER AND WILLIAM BATEMAN, LONDON, 1809, the domed rectangular hinged lid centering an oval mother of pearl mounted disc finial, within gadrooned trim and a border rim of engraved serpentine leafy vine, above a bomb rectangular body with continuing bands of engraved decoration, over a worn armorial lion, on a short conforming foot with undulating line decoration and raised on ball feet, enclosing five hallmarks, lion passant, crowned leopard head, date letter, "O," George III profile bust, centering silversmiths' block form stamp "PB / WB," approximate total weight 13.33 troy ounces.
