Description
A GEORGE III SILVER TEA CADDY
by Charles Aldridge, London 1787, oval, the domed cover with a flat hinge, urn finial and bright-cut engraved border, the base with applied reeded bands, engraved with script initials to a ribbon crested cartouche, opposed by a vacant cartouche. 14cm high, 14.5cm long, 14.5 troy ounces
The marks are well-spaced and clear on the base. The hinge is in good order and the lid closes well. A lock is in place but lacking a key. There is some minor age-related surface wear, but it is generally in good condition.
