Description
South America, Bolivia, ca. 20th century CE. Silver crown intended for a Santos or Madonna and would have been attached to the back of the wooden image with the curved extension. The silver corona, or resplendor, has been embellished with traditional Spanish colonial designs centered upon a marvelous rendering of an angelic face using the repouss technique. Size and Weight: 10" at widest x 7-1/4"H, opening measures 3-3/4"; 5.5 ounces, 155.9 grams.
