Description
Today the city of Van Hook lies under water. It was flooded to build Lake Sakakawea in the 1950s. In fact, the town wasn't even founded until 1915, which makes the fact that it could support a national bank in 1917 all the more impressive. Just calling this note choice original doesn't capture how fresh it really is. The charter number embossing is as deep as I have ever seen. This should be of interest to the ND specialist or just anyone who likes great national banknotes with a story.
