Description
STRASBURG, SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA POLYCHROME-DECORATED EARTHENWARE / REDWARE PITCHER, lead-, copper-, and manganese-glazed over a slip wash, tall ovoid form with a beaded shoulder ring, flared neck, strap handle, and a pronounced foot. Red "627" accession number under base. Attributed to J. Eberly & Co. (active 1874-1903), or S. Bell & Son (active 1882-1915), Strasburg, VA. Circa 1886-1903. 6 5/8" H, 3 5/8" D rim.

Excellent condition with no restoration, one side of neck with four small spots of glaze exfoliation, minor glaze wear/flaking to rim.
