STRASBURG, SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE JARS, LOT OF TWO, salt-glazed, each cylindrical form with flat-top rim and beaded neck ring, comprising a "1" gallon capacity example and an approximately half-gallon example. Each having brushed cobalt dropped feather decoration from beaded ring, one gallon example with additional brushed crescent below capacity mark. "1" gallon example probably Solomon Bell (1817-1882), Strasburg, VA. Fourth quarter 19th century. 8" H, 5 3/8" D rim and 9 1/8" H, 6 1/2" D rim.
