STAMPED "D. H. HENKEL", PAGE CO., SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE CROCK, salt glazed, approximately half-gallon capacity. Cylindrical form with a squared rim and incised ring below name stamp. Unusual brushed cobalt double-scroll decoration repeated three times below shoulder. Catalogue Note: Examples of Henkel pottery very seldom come to market; the last example we sold was in 2006. While the decoration on this example is simple, it is much above average for this firm.
