Description
Native American, Southwestern USA, Anasazi (Ancestral Puebloan), Kana'a, Pueblo I, ca. 800 to 1000 CE. A gorgeous pottery bowl formed via the coil-and-scrape technique with an overall wheat hue decorated within the basin with black-painted linear motifs. The dark bands bend constantly until they reach the tightly coiled basin center, and bands of stippling fill in some of the wider areas. Size: 8.2" L x 7.8" W x 3.375" H (20.8 cm x 19.8 cm x 8.6 cm)
Provenance: private New Jersey, USA collection, acquired from the Glen Canyon Trading Post in 1971

Condition
Professional repair and restoration, with resurfacing and overpainting along new material and break lines. Abrasions and light fading to original pigment, otherwise in nice condition. Nice motif within basin.
