1862 Civil War Wisconsin County Draft Register
Unique THREE-page Civil War register of potential draftees for the Army in the town of Randall, Wisconsin, between the 15 and 22 day of August, 1862. The survey was ordered by Sheriff James M. Stebbins and was conducted by Special Deputy John E. Henry. Approximately 100 names are listed, along with age, occupation, marital status, whether already in service, the unit, etc. All written in dark brown ink. The three-page document was filed with the clerk in 1863. Most of the men listed were farmers, aged 19 and up, not yet serving in the military. Top heading imprinted in part with "" List of Persons liable to Military Duty..."" Good condition with edge tears. 17"" wide by 22"" tall, each page.
