Description
1668 manuscript document signed by John Leverett, an early colonial governor of Massachusetts. 8" x 6.25". Laid down onto board (which has since broken into three sections.)*** John Leverett (1616-1679) came to Boston at a young age and found success as a merchant and soldier. For a time, he returned to England to fight in the British Civil War. Upon his return to America, he served in the General Court, and held the rank of major-general on the Massachusetts militia. He would serve as governor of the Massachusetts Bay colony from 1673 until his death.
Condition
Document laid down onto board, which has broken into three sections (can be easily repaired.) Sold as-is.
