Description
A distinguished Venetian thrusting sword, circa 1490Broad, conically tapering thrusting blade with a sturdy medial ridge on both sides (a large notch on one side). A sword mark struck on both sides, finely chased decorative tendrils at the base. The quillons angled slightly toward the blade with circular, coiled ends. Old oak grip, the leather cover has been lost. Round disc pommel. Length 102 cm.See Boccia, Lionallo G., Armi Bianche Italiane, fig. nos. 270/271 for a similar sword.Condition: II
