Description

Al Black (American, born 1947). One of the original twenty six (26) Highwaymen painters. A landscape oil on board painting of palm trees along the ocean's edge. Trees swaying in the breeze with egrets swooping through the fronds. Soft pink and blue background of a coming sunset. Rich greens in the foliage accompanied by stark white of the birds. Painted in the style of the 20th Century Indian River School and its founder, Albert (Beanie) Backus (1906-1990), who assisted in the foundation of the Florida Highwaymen movement. Signed in lower right. Presented in wood gold lacquer frame.

Work Size: 24 x 35 in.

Dimensions: 31.5 X 43.5 X .75 in.

Condition: Good overall condition with normal surface wear. Frame having storage wear to edges and corners. Estate fresh to the market.
