Description
Several of lots 504 through 527 are part of a group of Russian items consigned by a prominent Cincinnati family. All may have been purchased from the Armand Hammer Sale of Imperial Russian items held at Marshall Field & Company in Chicago in July of 1933. Many have documentation from the Hammer Collection. Others do not but the all reportedly came from the Hammer Sale.
Choice Russian silver Plique-a-Jour salt spoon from the collection of the Czarina Alexandria in the Alexander Palace. Beautifully colored and fastidiously garnished with tiny silver beadwork front and back. Impressed with the Latin monogram G.A. with possibly an obscure letter afterwards and along side an unreadable lozenge impression. A Russian Imperial Exhibit hand written tag accompanies stating the spoon is from the Alexander Palace and with a typed Russian Imperial Exhibit certificate from the Hammer Collection at Marshall Field & Company, Chicago, Illinois, dated July 15, 1933 declaring from the Czarina Alexandria collection, Alexander Palace, Tsarskoye Selo, Russia. Exceptional spoon in excellent condition.
