Dimensions: Width: 10.5cm, Height: 10.6cm.
Pair of Chinese Qing Dynasty Qianlong Mille Fleur Porcelain Lidded Jars. Potted in jar shape, has an open mouth with a slightly out-turned lip, the short neck leads to a convex bulging belly with a restrained bottom, with dome flat lid. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered all in mille fleur design. The Mille Fleur decoration, meaning the thousand flowers design first appears in the late Yongzheng period becoming extremely popular in the Qianlong and was carried on throughout the subsequent Jiaqing and DaoGuang periods, usually on a gilt ground. The dense millefleurs design features naturalistic blossoming peonies, chrysanthemums, hibiscus, morning glories, roses, lotus flowers, daisies, lilies and pinks amidst an abundance of foliage, the mouth rims with gilt bands, the bases and interiors often turquoise-enamelled on older pieces. The Under-base bears a reign mark, a four under glazed blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within blue square lines. Made in The Years QianLong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
