Description
Ancient Near East, Northwestern Iran or Iraq, Luristan or Mesopotamia / Sumer, Bronze Age, ca. 2500 to 2000 BCE. A cast copper blade head that resembles a miniature pickaxe or adze head with a secondary crescent blade or butt end. A wooden pole or handle would have been hafted to the head via the cylindrical socket with asymmetrical tab lips to reinforce the piece. Size: 3.5" L x 1" W x 2.5" H (8.9 cm x 2.5 cm x 6.4 cm)
