Description
North America, Southwest, Central eastern Arizona, Anasazi / Ancestral Puebloan, Greater Mogollon, Greater Salado, Upper Gila (Highland Salado), ca. 1250 to 1350 CE. A colorful pottery bowl formed via the meticulous Puebloan coil-and-scrape technique with a red exterior hue and a basin decorated with black pigment atop a beige ground. Within the basin is an elaborate and abstract pattern bearing serrated edges, spiraling tendrils, and dot-filled shapes, perhaps representative of mythological creatures. Size: 6.125" L x 6" W x 2.75" H (15.6 cm x 15.2 cm x 7 cm)

Condition
Repair to 1 area of side wall and rim, with small chips and light adhesive residue along break lines. Abrasions and nicks, with chips along rim, minor pitting, and light fading to pigment, otherwise in great condition. Nice preservation to motif within basin. Previous inventory number handwritten on base.
