Description
Native American, Western Anasazi, Tusayan (Kayenta), Tusayan White Ware, possibly Flagstaff Black-on-White, ca. 1150 to 1220 CE. An attractive pottery bowl featuring a hemispherical body and an ovoid rim with the interior intricately hand-painted in black-on-white designs. The unique decoration comprises of 3 sections of focal triangles surrounded by parallel striations and a large area of undulating lines, possibly intended to represent water. The center of the basin and the exterior of the vessel are left bare, only coated in white slip, which nicely complements the busy ornamentation elsewhere. Size: 10.1" L x 9" W x 4.8" H (25.7 cm x 22.9 cm x 12.2 cm)

Professionally repaired with some chipping along visible break lines and rim. Stable hairline fissures in areas and some nicks and abrasions to surface as shown. Nice preservation of painted decoration.
