Description
Native American, Southwestern United States, Central eastern Arizona, Anasazi / Ancestral Puebloan, Greater Mogollon, ca. 1250 to 1350 CE. A hand-built pottery bowl of hemispherical form with a round but stable base and a thick rim. The beige-hued interior surface is decorated with red-painted lines that create a register of enormous diamonds encircling the midsection, the top and bottom points touching the widest of the parallel stripes enclosing them. Two pairs of drilled holes around the rim suggest either old repair holes or areas for suspension loops to be knotted. Size: 11.8" L x 11.25" W x 5" H (30 cm x 28.6 cm x 12.7 cm)
