Native American, Southwestern United States, Anasazi (Ancestral Puebloan), ca. 900 to 1300 CE. A sizable pottery jar formed via the coil-and-scrape technique with an apple-shaped body flanked by a pair of horizontal handles. The flared rim rises tall above the curved shoulder, indicating this vessel was used to perhaps hold liquids or foodstuffs. Size: 8.25" L x 10.3" W x 7.7" H (21 cm x 26.2 cm x 19.6 cm)

Condition
Repair and restoration to both handles and part of rim, with resurfacing and overpainting along new material and break lines. Abrasions, pitting, nicks, chips, and fading to pigment, with light earthen deposits, otherwise in great condition. Nice size given its age!
