Henryk Kossowski, Polish, 1855 to 1921, an antique patinated spelter sculpture, Badinage, depicting a lady with two cupids. Signed, Kossowski, on the sculpture. Mounted on a figural base. Mounted on a round shaped wooden stand. Marked and titled on a gold tone plate, on the base. circa: late 19th century to early 20th century. Henryk Kossowski is known for Sculpture in bronze, terracotta, and patinated plaster, popular sculptural genre motifs, and portraits.. Henryk Kossowski was a Polish sculptor born in 1855. He was a student of his father, Henryk I Kossowski, and Marceli Guyski. After graduating from the School of Fine Arts in Krakow, he continued his studies in Paris with Mathurin Moreau. Kossowski exhibited his work in Paris, Vienna, Warsaw, Lviv, and Krakow. He was known for his sculptures in bronze, terracotta, and patinated plaster, particularly popular sculptural genre motifs and portraits.
