Poncho, Calcha, Dept. of Potosi, Bolivia, C.1940-1970. Spectacular example of a traditional man's ritual garment in perfect condition. The weavings from Calcha are among the finest in Bolivia due to their excellent spinning talent. The complementary warp woven design bands incorporate ancient symbols of the dotted meander and the belted X. The fringe is separately woven and attached.Size: 4'2'' x 4'7'' (127 x 140 cm).
