509th Pictorial Album Signed by 6 Crew Members of the Atomic Bomb Mission
509th Composite Group: First Atomic Bombardment, Pictorial Album. Columbus: Tibbets/Newhouse, 2002. Quarto. 1st Edition 104pp, with Autograph and Notes pages. The volume is "written and published by and for the members of the 509th COMPOSITE GROUP." A great many black and white photographs throughout. A hardcovered book, with yellow lettering on the front cover. Signed on the half-title page in blue ink by six crew members from the atomic bomb mission. The following signatures are included:

Boldly signed by all. Minor bumping to the spine edges of the book, else very fine.
A total of 46 Silverplate B-29s were produced during World War II, with 29 of these assigned to the 509th Composite Group and 15 used to carry out the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Included in the atomic bombing mission, along with the Enola Gay, were the Bockscar, The Great Artiste, and Laggin' Dragon.
