An incredibly rare poster as are all the first release posters for Josef von Sternberg's classic of Theodore Dreiser's novel. The poster was previously folded but has been professionally placed on linen and other than a two-inch tear in the upper border into the credits; it is near perfect. We've seen only one other copy of this poster come to market in recent years and it was heavily faded.

Based on Theodore Dreiser's 1925 novel of the same name, this crime drama features a dangerous love triangle between Phillip Holmes, Sylvia Sidney, and Frances Dee. The film takes its inspiration from the novel which was based on the actual 1906 murder case of Chester Gillette, convicted of drowning his girlfriend Grace Brown in Big Moose Lake in upstate New York. The same story would later inspire George Steven's 1951 classic, A Place in the Sun.
