Born in Warsaw in 1953, Andrzej P?gowski is a distinguished Polish artist renowned for his expertise in graphic design and poster art. He completed his education at The State University of Fine Arts in Poznan in 1978, thereafter dedicating himself to poster design, which swiftly emerged as his primary focus. Alongside posters, P?gowski extends his creative talents to designing theatrical settings, prints, and catalogues. As a prominent figure within the Third Generation of artists from the Polish School of Posters, P?gowski adeptly navigated the transition from socialism to capitalism. In 1990, he established his graphic studio, STUDIO P, which evolved into an advertising agency by 1993, and remains operational today. Serving as the art director of the Polish edition of Playboy since 1992, P?gowski's artistic vision is characterized by personalized posters that evoke diverse emotions and concepts. He asserts that each of his numerous posters is a distinct endeavor, stating, "Every poster for me is an individual exercise different from the previous one." P?gowski's artwork adorns numerous European museums and has earned a place in the esteemed collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Additionally, he has showcased his talents through solo exhibitions in Stockholm, Paris, London, and his hometown of Warsaw.
