A PAIR OF VINTAGE AFRICAN CARVINGS, BAULE COUPLE, CÔTE D'IVOIRE, MID 20TH CENTURY, carved wood, a content male and female "spirit" figures, each with bun hair and curling ox horns; the male with a long braided goatee, while the female holds a child in her lap. Height: 45" Width: 14" Depth: 11"

Condition

Large cracks throughout, repairs, losses, wood brittle, old exposure to woodworm, the female has lost back hair "pony tail" twist, male horn with loss, abrasive losses throughout, cracked bases. Apparent age and damage throughout.
