Iron Brigade Ribbon - Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan
Honorary Civil War Iron Brigade ribbon, 3.5" x 5.25", framed and glazed to an overall size of 7.75" x 20". Machine embroidered with the following lettering surrounding crossed 13-star U.S. Flags: "Iron Brigade / First Army-Corps / Army of the Potomac / Wisconsin - Indiana - Michigan / Organized August 1861. / Disbanded July 1865. / Commanders / Gen. Rufus King, Gen. Sol. Meredith, Gen. E.S. Bragg, Gen. John Gibbon, Gen. L. Cutler". At the lower portion, an embroidered American eagle at the bottom with the word "Victory" embroidered over its outstretched wings. With gold fringe detail at the bottom. A fine example, attractively displayed.
The following regiments are embroidered on an open scroll of paper: "2nd Wisconsin. 19th Indiana. 6th Wisconsin. 24th Michigan. 7th Wisconsin / Muster Roll". Followed by a listing of the various campaigns in which the Iron Brigade regiments fought, including Second Bull Run, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, Mine Run, Petersburg, and Appomattox, along with many others.
