Richard Byrd Signed 8 x 10 Vintage Photograph as Naval Officer.
Signed Matte Finish Photograph, n.p, November 28, 1927, of a young Richard Byrd photographed in his US Naval wear, a rare site as opposed to his later expedition photographs. Byrd has dated his signature "November 28, 1927" and inscribed “To Miss Sand with very much appreciation / RE Byrd.” In overall fine condition with some foxing, boldly signed. Measures 8" x 10".
Richard Evelyn Byrd Jr. (October 25, 1888 – March 11, 1957) was an American naval officer and explorer. He was a recipient of the Medal of Honor, the highest honor for valor given by the United States, and was a pioneering American aviator, polar explorer, and organizer of polar logistics.
