Condition
The panel is cradled and seems to have been made up with two horizontal planks. Some small holes are visible across the joint.
The varnish is opaque and uneven.
There are some abrasion around the edges.
There are some retouched horizontal spits running from the centre left to the centre right of the panel.
The dark tones are worn and thin. There is a fine craquelure, and resulting paint losses throughout the painting.
Inspection under UV light reveals:
-the aforementioned retouched joint and spits of the panel
-retouching to the edges
-infilling to the dark colors of the background, particularly to the right side.
Further restorations cannot be excluded.
