A Moche Deer Head on Drum Vessel Peru, Early Intermediate Period – Middle Horizon, circa 200-800 AD Buffware with red and cream colored paints. A vertical standing circular drum-shaped base on small feet supports the head and neck of a deer. The deer has large leaf-shaped ears, almond eyes, raised nose with nostrils and a slit mouth.
