Late Period, ca. 664-332 BC.A faience beaded funerary shroud portrays the face of the deceased with beige, ochre, and crimson beads. A winged scarab symbolises Khepri, an Egyptian deity of renewal. Four figures below represent the sons of Horus, guardians of organs for the afterlife. Restrung. Size: L:250mm / W:150mm ; 90g Provenance: From the collection of a London gentleman; formerly acquired in early 2000s; previously in 1970s UK collection.
