Description
BANGOR. Circa 1875, Penobscot County, Maine. Published by J.J. Stoner, Madison, Wis. Drawn by Augustus Koch. Engraved by Chas. Shober & Co. Prop's Chicago Lith. Co. This large black and white lithograph illustrates the topography, churches, manufactories, hotels and points of reference of the city in the 3rd quarter of the 19th century. Professionally mounted under glass with matte, housed in a molded antiqued blue frame. PROVENANCE: This was lot 373 in Thompson Auction. SIZE: Sight is 25" x 30 1/2". Overall is 33 1/2" x 39". CONDITION: several small repaired tears in the upper margin, one central repair continues 3/4" into the sky. Otherwise very good. (05-356/TG). $1,000-2,000.
