BROADSIDE. Lithograph circa 1886, Boston, Mass. Printed in red and black with an oval vignette of the steamer "Penobscot" in the upper left quadrant. Dated in the image, "June 24, 1886". PROVENANCE: James Arsenault, Rare Books, 1999. LATER PROVENANCE: This was lot 207 in Thompson Auction. SIZE: Lithograph is 21 1/4" x 13 1/4", plus narrow margins. CONDITION: exceptional copy of the finest of its type. Some light soiling and spotting with remnants of tape adhesive in upper central area. Cleaned and stabilized, backed on Japan paper by Northeast Document Conservation Center in 2002. (05-365/TG). $1,500-2,000.
