Pre-Columbian to early Post-Conquest, ca. 1200 to 1550 CE. Wonderful necklace comprised of ancient, Inca hand carved purple spondylus shell beads interspersed with copper beads dating to the Moche through Inca cultures. Due to the small amounts of zinc found in the warrior beads we can pretty well establish these were cast just after the conquest of the Spanish in 1532. Pendants include standing males, monkeys, waterbirds and hummingbirds. Small stone bead acts as central drop pendant. Size: 23" L (58.4 cm)
