Morgan, Simon Stevens, and A.M. Eastman, purchased obsolete smoothbore Hall carbines out of U.S. arsenal stocks for $3.50 apiece. The guns were then immediately rifled at a nominal cost, so as not to be obsolete, and were immediately sold back to the U.S. government, via Major General John Fremont at St. Louis, for $22.00 each. Get Rich Quick in action.A very solid, collectible Hall carbine probably used in Fremonts Department of the West during the Civil War. 100% original, 100% complete, and mechanically perfect.
