Description

In one binder, 12 letters with typed transcriptions, several with patriotic letterhead, together with 2 tintypes purported to be of J W Adams and family, 2 later 1st day covers, one Gettysburg, the other US Grant.

The letters in varying sizes, some in multiple pages, 3 accompanied by their original transmittal cover, varied subject matter, binder measures 12.5x10in., in generally good condition with expected wear and varying degrees of issues given age and use.

Provenance: Part of a civil war collection of a Sullivan County, NY gentleman 90 years young. The collection spans 50 years and was acquired from shows, dealers and private collections throughout the east coast and midwest.
