In one binder, including a few CSA letters, some letters with typed or handwritten full or partial transcriptions, some with written content narratives or comments, some with patriotic letterhead, some soldier research, a letter from Horace Tooley (New York reg't) to his parents... "we were out on review the other day and saw the President and General Hooker...", together with 2 slave bills of sale dated 1826 & 1834, a Reuben Fenton (NY Governor) signed card, an Indiana recruiting document signed by the Governor, a letter from a soldier to Abraham Lincoln soliciting his assistance in getting paid, etc.

The letters in varying sizes, some in multiple pages, 9 accompanied by their original transmittal cover, varied subject matter, binder measures 12.5x10in., in generally good condition with expected wear and varying degrees of issues given age and use.

Provenance: Part of a civil war collection of a Sullivan County, NY gentleman 90 years young. The collection spans 50 years and was acquired from shows, dealers and private collections throughout the east coast and midwest.
