An antique 19th century Japanese woodblock print, Ukiyo-e series by Utagawa Kunisada also known as Utagawa Toyokuni III, Japanese 1786 to 1865. The artwork depicts the scene from the 54th episode of The Tale of Genji. This is a motif of the 3rd volume Utsusemi. Great coloring on fine paper. Matted and framed. Note: Utagawa Kunisada was a Japanese ukiyo-e artist. He is considered the most popular, prolific and commercially successful designer of ukiyo-e woodblock prints in 19th-century Japan.
