Starr Percussion Carbine, mfg. 1862-1865, .54 caliber, 21" barrel, bead front sight, adjustable rear sight, single brass barrel band, drop breech lock activated by the lever ("B"inspection mark) trigger guard, sling ring at left receiver, hardwood stock, brass butt plate with "B" inspection mark, marked behind hammer "Starr Arms Co, Yonkers, N,Y,", marked at barrel tang behind breech "Starr's Patent, Sept. 14th, 1858", U.S. inspector mark at left barrel near receiver "L.A.B" (L.A. Brown), very faint parts of the inspection cartouche at left wrist, wood with expected dents and scars, metal brown with scars, hammer and top of breechblock silver tone with pitting, action good and strong, bore with surface rust and strong rifling, SN 2335, for shipping overall approx. 38"l, 7.20lbs *Note: The serial number of this carbine is within the range possibly issued to the 19th Penna.
