According to Juan Carlos Pereda, the Curator at the Museum Tamayo, the above lot is an unpublished work and appears to be a portrait of one of the daughter's of Maria Izquierdo (also a Mexican painter). Izquierdo was Tamayo's first romantic partner before marrying Olga Flores Rivas. There is a similar work listed in the book "Drawings of Tamayo" published in 1950.
