Description
Originally listed at $300
North America, United States, ca. 19th century CE. A utilitarian knife used on the American Frontier. The forged-steel blade exhibits a lengthy profile with a thick spine on one side and a sharpened edge on the opposite side, a gently sloped tip, and an ovoid hand guard behind the bolster. Attached to the tang is a cylindrical wooden handle that is secured via an iron rivet and an iron end cap. Lovely patina has developed across the blade and handle. Size: 2.25" W x 14.875" H (5.7 cm x 37.8 cm); (blade): 9.8" L x 1.6" W (24.9 cm x 4.1 cm)

Minor abrasions to blade and handle, with small nicks to blade edge, light pitting to blade faces, and small areas of staining on handle, otherwise intact and very good. Nice patina throughout. Blade edge is still sharp, so please handle with caution.
