**First Time At Auction**

North America, United States, ca. 19th century CE. An intense looking knife, with a steel blade and a wooden handle with a brass wire wrapped around the neck. The blade has an upward curved profile and a single cutting edge. The short tang extends from the blade and is fitted with a dark wooden grip that has an incised X-motif near the center and a rivet on the butt end to hold the handle in place. Engraved words are etched on the blade, which are partially visible and may be the name of the knife's original owner. This is a unique knife with a beautiful patina on the wood and blade! Size: 2" W x 12.25" H (5.1 cm x 31.1 cm)

Provenance: ex-Davis collection, Houston, Texas, acquired before 2013 from various auction houses in London and New York
