Limited edition print, 33 x 23 in., titled 'The Point' by Larry Selman. The print depicts U.S. Army Rangers attacking and capturing Pointe du Hoc by scaling the cliffs while fighting on the beach continued around them. This impeccably detailed print is 39 out of 475 and is presented in a black frame. Two men sign this print at the bottom including the artist Larry Selman, and Leonard Lomell who was a participating ranger in this operation. LEONARD LOMELL (1920-2011) United States Army Ranger inducted into the Ranger Hall of Fame, recipient of the Distinguished Service Cross, British Military Medal, French Legion d'honneur, Silver Star, and Bronze Star. Fine condition. Sold with an I.S.P., 8 x 10 in. color, featuring President Ronald Reagan delivering an honorary speech at Pointe du Hoc, standing at the cliff edge. Lomell, who is seen in this photo seated in the second row behind Nancy Reagan, inscribes and signs in blue ink at the top right, adding '...D.S.C., Co. D 2nd Ranger Bn. U.S. Army WWII'. The verso indicates this photo came from the 'Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation'.
