The ring boasts an approximately 3.50ct black star sapphire, lined with 0.50ctw round cut diamonds on one side. The ring comes with a letter of authenticity from Ed Parker, who trained Elvis in karate and served as one of his bodyguards during his final years. The letter is printed on International Kenpo Karate Association letterhead and signed by Parker at the conclusion, and states in part "This 14kt gold nugget style ring with diamonds and a black star sapphire was a favorite of Elvis' and he wore it many times both on and off stage. At the end of one of his tours as he often did he would pass out gifts to members of the group. Elvis gave me this ring on one such instance as a token of his appreciation and friendship."
