Description
Elvis Presley's Mathey-Tissot Automatic Watch W/Custom Bezel *Working* W/Notarized Letter of Provenance - This Mathey-Tissot watch belonged to Elvis Presley before it was given to his chief of security, Al Strada. The watch is a gold-colored automatic watch with date display at 3 o'clock, and is in working condition. The watch is finished with a custom engraved bezel which reads "Elvis Presley" and has stars running across the bottom. The watch will be accompanied by a notarized letter of provenance addressed to Stephen Shutts, from a woman who received the piece upon her mother's passing in the early 1990s. The letter states that her mother was an avid Elvis fan who was the co-founder of the Elvis Presley Foundation of NY, and was featured on television, radio segments and magazines discussing Elvis. The letter also states that the watch was given to her from Al Strada, who was Elvis' chief of security and personal aide. The piece was then acquired by Stephen Shutts, who has been a well known collector and broker of Elvis, country music and pop culture memorabilia for over 20 years, and has worked with entities including the CMA, Brooks & Dunn, Hugh Hefner & Playboy, Dick Clark, among others. Shutts also had a CMT reality TV series based on his life collection Rock N' Roll memorabilia.
