Description
Ancient Near East / Ancient Mediterranean, Amlash culture, ca. 1400 to 1000 BCE. A hand-built and highly burnished pottery vessel with a hemispherical body resting atop a trio of conical legs. The carinated upper body leads upwards to form the overhanging rim and rounded lip, with a ring handle on the verso, and a tubular spout emanating from the front. Size: 11.875" L x 9" W x 5.6" H (30.2 cm x 22.9 cm x 14.2 cm)
Provenance: Private Greenwood Village, Colorado, USA collection, via inheritance; Leota Furlong Agett Persian Pottery collection, acquired in Tehran, Iran in the early 1960s

Repaired with exterior areas of restoration. Abrasions and nicks commensurate with age, with light earthen deposits, and scattered areas of fire-darkening. Nice preservation to overall form.
